Captain Armen Dermenjian
Captain Armen Dermenjian started his career with the Burbank Police Department in 1993 as a Reserve Police Officer and as a full-time Police Officer in 1994 for the Los Angeles Police Department. He returned to the Burbank Police Department in 1995 as a full-time Police Officer. During his 20 years with the Department, Captain Dermenjian has worked various assignments, including, Patrol, Air Support (as Pilot and Flight Instructor), Traffic, Investigations, and Professional Standards. He was also the Team Leader of the Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT).
Captain Dermenjian has Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Philosophy. He is a graduate of Leadership Burbank and California POST Law Enforcement Command College. He has completed various executive-level programs, including Executive Education at Harvard Kennedy School.
Captain Dermenjian previously served as the Commanding Officer of the Support Services Division, where he oversaw most of the civilian employees. He has also overseen and made tremendous contributions to technology implementations for the Burbank Police Department and was the Department’s CALEA Accreditation Manager when BPD earned its first accreditation.
Captain Dermenjian is now the Commanding Officer of the Investigations Division.
