Captain Armen Dermenjian
Captain Armen Dermenjian started his career with the Burbank Police Department in 1993 as a Reserve Police Officer and as a full-time Police Officer in 1994 for the Los Angeles Police Department. He returned to the Burbank Police Department in 1995 as a full-time Police Officer. During his 20 years with the Department, Captain Dermenjian has worked various assignments, including, Patrol, Air Support (as Pilot and Flight Instructor), Traffic, Investigations, and Professional Standards. He was also the Team Leader of the Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT).
Captain Dermenjian has Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Philosophy. He is a graduate of Leadership Burbank and California POST Law Enforcement Command College. He has completed various executive-level programs, including Executive Education at Harvard Kennedy School.
As the Commanding Officer of the Support Services Division, he oversees most of the civilian employees. His areas of responsibility include the Communications Center, Records Bureau, Animal Shelter, Property and Evidence, Building Maintenance, Parking Citation Management, and the Jail. He also oversees technology implementations and is the Department’s CALEA Accreditation Manager.
