Animal Shelter Services

MICROCHIPPING YOUR PET

If you are a Burbank resident, the Burbank Animal Shelter offers microchipping for your pet for only $10.

Properly identifying your pet could make the difference in the prompt and safe return of your beloved pet. In 2012, the Burbank Animal Shelter was able to return over 425 dogs and cats to their owners because of proper identification.

A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is injected just under the skin of the animal. When a lost animal is scanned, the serial number comes up; the Shelter contacts the microchip company and receives the owner’s information.
