Neighborhood Policing Team

The Neighborhood Policing Team (NPT) program exemplifies Community Oriented Policing in its truest form.  It is the focal point through which the Department’s community policing efforts are generated.  The City is divided into 4 sectors, each having a dedicated officer assigned to establish effective and lasting communications with members of the community, the Police Department, and other City Departments in order to address community livability concerns.  The goal of the NPT program is to quickly identify community issues, concerns, problems, and crime trends which have long term quality of life implications.  The NPT coordinates resources to ensure the implementation of problem solving strategies to address quality of life concerns and crime within the City.  The unit is managed by the Patrol Division.
