Five Men Arrested For Catalytic Converter Theft

July 19, 2022 08:42 AM

On July 16, 2022, at about 4:40 a.m., the Burbank Police Department received a report of males trying to steal the catalytic converter off a Toyota Prius in the area of Olive Avenue and Sixth Street.

When the officers arrived, they spoke with the reporting party, who provided them with the description of two vehicles and a group of males involved in the theft.  The officers located the victim’s vehicle and observed evidence consistent with the reporting party’s statement.

Officers searched the surrounding area and located both involved vehicles, including all five suspects, as they were making their way to the freeway.

During a search of both vehicles, officers located floor jacks, reciprocating saws, reciprocating saw blades, and evidence indicating the males were involved in the crime of stealing catalytic converters.

The five suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Freddy Godinez of Huntington Park, 19-year-old Michael Pedrajabernabe of Los Angeles, 20-year-old Isaiah Sanchez of Long Beach, 21-year-old Braulio Negrete of Los Angeles, and 24-year-old Victor Galeanatorres of Los Angeles.  All five were arrested and booked for grand theft, a felony.  All five are being held in lieu of $20,000 bail each and are due to appear in court on July 19, 2022.  Formal charges are pending review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
