Honor Guard

Lin_Salute

The Burbank Police Department Honor Guard was re-established in December 2014 and serves as uniformed ambassadors to the community.  The honor guard is a ceremonial unit comprised of sworn members of the police department who are highly motivated and maintain exceptionally high standards of appearance, conduct and who show aptitude for ceremonial duty.

The primary role of the unit is to provide funeral honors for fallen comrades.  The honor guard also serves as the "guardians of the colors" by displaying and escorting the national flag on ceremonial occasions at official city functions.  The honor guard is comprised of two flag bearers, two riflemen, a vocalist and a bugler.

In 2015, the honor guard attended several community events and four memorial services for current and former law enforcement officers.

The honor guard continues to present a positive image of the department, while assisting with the department’s recruiting efforts by maintaining esprit de corps and their dedication to duty.
