Suicide Prevention & Awareness

In the wake of recent tragic events affecting our community and local schools, the City of Burbank and Burbank Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind the public that we can all help prevent suicide. If you are thinking about suicide, are worried about a friend or loved one, or would like emotional support, the Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week across the United States.

We would also like to assure our community that the Burbank Police Department has an established Mental Health Evaluation Team in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, in order to address the growing needs of those suffering from mental illness.

The Family Services Agency of Burbank also provides critical life-changing, and often life-saving, counseling and preventive services in our Burbank agency, on 18 Burbank school campuses, and in 3 residential treatment facilities. FSA treats youth, teens, adults, couples and families, in individual, group, and school-based environments. They are committed to providing your and your family’s care in safe and welcoming surroundings, and with complete privacy and confidentiality.
