Captain Claudio Losacco
Captain Claudio Losacco was born and raised in Burbank, graduating locally from John Burroughs High School. His boyhood dream of becoming a Burbank Police Officer came true in 1999. After graduating from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Academy Class 299, he worked as a patrol officer for several years, before promoting to detective where he held assignments in the Gang Unit and Vice/Narcotics Detail.
Claudio promoted to sergeant and later lieutenant, where he held supervisory roles in the Patrol Division, Gang Unit and Vice/Narcotics Detail. He was also the Department’s Press Information Officer, where he worked closely with our media partners and innovated our social media presence. As a lieutenant, Claudio was a Watch Commander and most recently the Investigation Division Bureau Commander, overseeing detectives, forensics and the crime analysis unit.
Captain Losacco holds a master’s degree from Woodbury University in Organizational Leadership and bachelor’s degree from California State Long Beach.
Claudio is a director on the non-profit Burbank Police Foundation Board, which he co-founded with two members of the Burbank Community in 2013. He was also the president and an executive board member of the Burbank Police Officers’ Association for over 20 years.
Captain Losacco is an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor and holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and flying corporate jets all over the United States. He volunteers his time flying dogs to and from shelters, fosters and their forever homes.
In August 2024, Chief Michael Albanese promoted Claudio to Police Captain, where he is now the Commanding Officer of the Investigation Division
