The Burbank Police Department Community Academy was created to give individuals an opportunity to see how police officers work and gain a better understanding of departmental operations. The Community Academy course is designed to familiarize citizens with the department’s community policing philosophies, internal policies, and the guiding principles of law and ethical conduct governing the delivery of police services within our community.
The total length of the academy is ten (10) class sessions. Class sessions are held once per week on Thursday evenings, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in addition to one Saturday class, tentatively scheduled for December 14, 2019, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The first class session is scheduled for Thursday, October 17, 2019.

Graduation is scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2020.
