Burbank PD Shop with a Cop

The Burbank Police Department hosted our annual Shop with a Cop event on Thursday, December 8, at the Burbank Target in the Empire Center. In partnership with Burbank PD, Shop with a Cop was sponsored and funded by the Target, Community Bank, Cypress Equities, private citizen Lisa Komorowski and the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank.
This event fosters positive relationships between our youth and police officers. Thirty children from the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank were selected to shop at the Burbank Target. Each child was given a gift card, which they used to purchase gifts for their immediate family and for themselves. The children were assigned to a police officer or a cadet, who escorted them around the store and assisted in selecting appropriate gifts.
After the shopping concluded at Target, the children and a family member came to the Burbank Police Station where everyone enjoyed a fantastic dinner from Olive Garden. Burbank Police Chief Scott LaChasse addressed the boys and girls, telling them, “The decisions you make today, will affect you the rest of your lives. Strive to make positive choices now so you can help ensure your success as adults.”
