Burbank Police Activity: 3400 block of Castleman Lane
May 2, 2019 08:19 AM
Burbank, California - The Burbank Police Department is conducting a narcotics-related investigation in the 3400 block of Castleman Lane. The investigation stems from a police call for service regarding suspicious circumstances at about 1:20 AM this morning, after witnesses saw a loose dog come from a residence with an open front door. When Burbank Police Officers arrived, they saw lights on inside the home and vehicles parked in the driveway. However, there was no response from anyone inside the home.
Police officers feared someone was inside the home, possibly in distress, in need of help, or the victim of a crime. As they entered the residence, they encountered drug manufacturing equipment and what appeared to be a sophisticated, illegal clandestine drug lab. Police officers held the home pending a search warrant and the arrival of Detectives.
Due to the volatile and dangerous nature of illegal drug labs, additional resources were called, including the Burbank Fire Department, HazMat Response Team, and investigators with the California Department of Justice.
One person has been detained at the home in connection with the investigation. His relationship to the home is not yet known.
The investigation is ongoing.
