Captain J.J. Puglisi
J.J. Puglisi joined the Burbank Police Department in 1994 as a Police Recruit. He has worked a variety of administrative and operational assignments during his tenure including assignments in Patrol, Investigations, Gangs, Professional Standards, and Traffic. In addition, up until his promotion, he was the Tactical Commander of the Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics team, of which he became a member in 2000.
Captain Puglisi is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy and the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Command College. He has also completed the POST Executive Development Course. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the California State University, Northridge and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Captain Puglisi currently sits on the board of directors for the Burbank Police Foundation. He is a past board member and past president of the Burbank Police Officers’ Association.
In January of 2022, Chief Michael Albanese promoted him to Police Captain. He is now the Commanding Officer of the Support Services Division.
