Suspicious Case Determined to Be Harmless

August 18, 2017 07:07 AM

On August 17, 2017, at about 3:20 P.M., the Burbank Police Department received a call of a suspicious hard shell case found outside of the Spiritworks Center for Spiritual Living, located at 260 North Pass Avenue.  The case was found unattended, by a person affiliated with the church.

The case, rectangular in shape, was found on the ground adjacent to a staircase leading to the main entrance of the church.  Due to the unusual circumstances, the area surrounding the church was cordoned off as a precaution.  A section of Pass Avenue and the Pass Avenue off-ramp from the eastbound 134 Freeway were temporarily closed.

Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Arson and Explosives Detail responded to the scene.  They examined the case and determined it was harmless. The case contained clothing and other miscellaneous items.

Immediately following the investigation, the area surrounding the church, including roadways, were re-opened to vehicles and pedestrians.
