UPDATE TO PREVIOUS STATEMENT REGARDING METROLINK STABBING INVESTIGATION
JANUARY 29, 2019
The suspect in a stabbing that occurred near the Downtown Burbank Metrolink station on January 15, 2019 has been identified as Bavorick Theus, a 58-year-old man from Lawndale. Theus was arrested earlier today in the City of Lawndale by Investigators from the Burbank Police Department. He has been booked for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and is being on $30,000 bail, in addition to bail connected to several outstanding warrants. His total bail is $86,435.
Both the victim and suspect are transients. The incident began as a verbal altercation between them.
The victim has since been released from the hospital.

Statement regarding an active police investigation near the Burbank Metrolink Station:
This afternoon, at about 4:45 P.M., Burbank Police Officers responded to the area of the Metrolink Station, at 5 W. Olive Ave., regarding a stabbing that had just occurred.
When police officers arrived, they located an adult male victim with a stab wound to the neck area. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. An update on his condition is not available.
The suspect remains outstanding at this time. He was described as an African American man, 50 to 60 years old. A motive in this assault is not yet known. Detectives are actively working the investigation.
