Wall of Heroes Honors Fallen Police Officers & Firefighters

The Burbank Police and Fire Departments have always been extremely fortunate to have such fantastic support from our residents and business community. We were recently flattered and genuinely appreciative when Mr. Brian Slaught, owner of Story Tavern in Burbank, contacted us and shared his and his family's plans to build and dedicate a "Wall of Heroes." The "Wall of Heroes" depicts and honors Burbank Police Officers and Firefighters, serving as a tribute to active personnel who have recently been honored for their service, as well as a memorial for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The Story Tavern "Wall of Heroes" was officially unveiled and dedicated in a short ceremony which took place on March 29. Several police officers and firefighters were in attendance as well as Burbank Police Officer Matthew Pavelka's family. Officer Pavelka was killed in the line of duty in 2003 and is honored on the wall.
Mr. Slaught stated, "The City of Burbank is a very unique and special place. The safety and the general amiable nature of this community is what has, and will continue to distinguish Burbank as an amazing place to live. The brave men and women of the Burbank Police and Fire are a large reason why Burbank is the great city that we call home. Every day, they put their lives on the line for this community, ensuring that Burbank continues to be the safe and friendly city that we know and love. However, words only go so far. As members of this Burbank Community, we must support the men and women of the Police and Fire Departments with both our words and actions. This wall is Story Tavern's way of saying thank you, as well as displaying our support for everyone in the Burbank Police and Fire."
The men and women of the Burbank Police Department thank the Slaught Family and Story Tavern for their support to public service in the wonderful community of Burbank.
