HOME INVASION ROBBERY NEWS RELEASE - 07-10-15

On Friday, July 10, 2015, at approximately 8:22 pm, the Burbank Police Department responded to a call of an assault which had occurred at a home in the 1000 block of Cornell Dr. As officers responded, updated information was received, indicating the resident had been robbed.

ROBBERY/ARSON NEWS RELEASE 07-09-15

On Thursday, July 9, 2015, at about 8:50pm, the Burbank Police Department received a call of a robbery – just occurred at the Sevan Mini Market located at 1516 North San Fernando Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found the business was on fire. The officers made contact with the victim, who reported he’d been robbed by at least three suspects, with one or more being armed with a firearm.

Catalytic Converter Theft Arrests - 07-02-15

Over 60 catalytic converters have been stolen from vehicles within the City of Burbank during the last few months. Using leads developed from recent thefts, investigators with the Burbank Police Department initiated surveillance of several possible suspects.

Drug Take Back Event - 07-11-15

On July 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Burbank Police Department will give the public an opportunity to prevent medication abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

 

BUSD Employee Arrested on Sex Offenses

BPD Detectives investigated a report involving BHS Girls Volleyball Coach Kyle Roach. It is believed he sent numerous sexually related text message communications, and solicited nude photos from underage females. The investigation identified an additional victim, who said she had an ongoing sexual relationship with Roach while she was under 18. She is now an adult and no longer attends BHS. Roach was arrested on June 18. Filing of the case with the District Attorney's Office is pending.

 

Former BUSD Employee Arrested

Based on a tip, The Burbank Police Department conducted an investigation involving a former John Burroughs High School Employee who may have had an ongoing sexual relationship with a student. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 23 year old Clarke Surrey of Glendale on June 4th, 2015.

 

Flash Mob Car Gathering Planned for Burbank Empire Center

The Burbank Police Department has become aware of a “flash-mob” style meeting planned for June 16, 2015 at the Krispy Kreme located in the Burbank Empire Center. The Burbank Police Department will always respect and recognize the rights of individuals to peacefully and lawfully assemble. The Burbank Police Department will be fully deployed in the area to enforce all applicable laws, including those involving illegal engine/vehicle modifications.
